2012 Trend Watch: Tangerine Tango

If you haven't heard, which is impossible unless you have been living under a rock, the Pantone Color of 2012 is Tangerine Tango. Some designers may say that they do not follow the color trend that is forecasted for the year but even if we did not want to follow this trend it seems to be what all our brides are asking for this year. We are pairing Tangerine with peach, butter yellow and blush pink to bring more depth to the color palette, you could call it Tequila Sunrise. We might even throw in a touch of French blue or Fuchsia if we are feeling whimsical. Whatever your color palette is adding a touch of Tangerine will give it that extra pop of youth and vibrancy.

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Color therapy through the years:

2012 Tangerine Tango. Vivacious reddish orange "energy boost to recharge and move forward"
2011 Honeysuckle. A vibrant reddish-pink "perfect to ward off the blues."
2010 Turquoise. An "escape from the everyday troubles of the world while at the same time restoring our sense of well-being."
2009 Mimosa. A warm yellow that "expresses hope and reassurance."
2008 Blue Iris. "Anchoring and meditative with a touch of magic."
2007 Chili Pepper. A deep red that "connotes an outgoing, confident, design-savvy attitude."

Press: Pacific Weddings Magazine

The beautiful white and pink Anderson Ranch wedding that we posted about last month is featured in Pacific Weddings Winter/Spring 2012 issue. Thank you to Scott Andrew for getting it published in the magazine, it always so exciting to see our work in print. Each wedding or event we do we hope for a great photographer that will capture the design and details beautifully and Scott far exceeded our expectations.

Pacific Weddings is a great magazine with inspiration from all over Hawaii and California. Pick up a copy of the new issue at your nearest book or grocery store and check out this vintage inspired wedding feature titled "Pure Love" on page 28. The story of how the couple met and their journey to the aisle is written beautifully by Shaunna Nygren, it will make you smile.
