Real Wedding: Gina & Andrew

A perfect Spring day in San Francisco for a wedding at the historic Ferry Building. The bride loves Red but wanted it to look more like Spring, so we softened the look with white, blush, grey and muted greens. Modern silver textured vases for a little sparkle and drama, succulents for texture and gorgeous Cafe Au Lait dahlias to add that touch of Blush. The fab team that is Kim and Niki Photography captured the decor beautifully.

This wedding was just featured in the Wedding section of 7x7 online as well, check it out here.

Beautiful all red bouquet for the bride....such a great picture!

Elegant arrangements of deep red dahlias, white hydrangea, Amigo blush roses, eucalyptus berries, dusty miller, Cafe Au Lait dahlias and succulents.

Trend: Succulents

If you didn't know, well now you know...Succulents are in!

We know some of you might be thinking to yourself "succulents have been trending for awhile", which is true but most of the time it has been for rustic or earthy designs. Now we are seeing and using them more often in almost any type of event from whimsical or gardeny to modern or elegant and even romantic. Succulents are a great accent to modernize and add interesting texture to any arrangement.

Here are some examples of our work where succulents used in different ways.

You can find more on our Facebook page too!

An unexpected twist to a classic garden arrangement.

Great for boutonnieres and bouquets to hold through the entire wedding...even through all the hugs

A great pop of green with other vibrant colors and fun textures like coxcomb or parrot tulips.

We know you don't want to think about it but the holidays are upon us and if you are in the mood for something different think about adding succulents into your holiday decor.

Real Weddings 6.30.12

Real Weddings: Erin & Garren

Erin and Garren had a beautiful wedding at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral on June 30th, 2012. The reception that had followed took place at the historic Kohl Mansion in Burlingame, which had stunning architecture and lush rose gardens. The Kohl Mansion was the perfect venue for the reception to reflect the theme of the wedding, which was Victorian, romantic, and elegant. The color palette we chose for the wedding was composed of black magic red, berry red, mango orange, golden yellow, earthy green, and lush peach.

The bride had a lush cascade bouquet of all white flowers including calla lilies, David Austin garden roses, tulips, and stephanotis.

The lavish bridesmaid bouquet was composed of burgundy dahlias, mango calla lilies, cherry brandy roses, and touches of privet for greenery.

We custom designed the bride and groom's initials with moss and greenery, which was then hung on the back of their chairs and upon the carriage that swept them away after their beautiful wedding.
In the end, it turned out to be a stunning Victorian wedding with romantic reds, deep oranges, and lush greens.

Real Wedding: Abby & Efren

Abby and Efren had an equally as beautiful wedding that took place on June 30, 2012 at the stunning Grace Cathedral located in San Fransisco. The reception that followed the wedding was at  the infamous steak house in San Francisco known as Boboquivari's. The theme for this wedding was elegant, romantic, and traditional with colors of white, ivory, blush, and green accents.

The bride's bouquet was an elegant and round arrangement of white calla lilies, blush garden roses, white ranunculas, and touches of camellia greenery.
The groom's boutonniere was placed in a small silver "tussie mussie" holder to have an elegant and traditional look. Inside it we placed a white garden rose, white ranuncula, and a touch of greenery.

We hope you enjoyed the photos from both of these stunning weddings, if you have any questions about what we do here at Michael Daigian Design please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Real Wedding & Engagement Party

Real Wedding: Jenna & Scott

Jenna and Scott got married on June 10, 2012 at the unique Vintage Inn located in downtown Yountville, California. The wedding took place outside on the lush green lawn in the Grand Pavilion, which was surrounded by stone walls and rose gardens. The reception dinner that followed was inside the Historic Barrel Room that had deep red brick walls and stunning wrought iron chandeliers. The theme we had in mind for this wedding was elegant and romantic, along with many shades of purple and touches of green and grey.

We created a custom chuppah that was lined with phalaenopsis orchids, campanulas, lisianthus, and cool water roses.

We provided the candles that illuminated each of the tables creating a romantic dining experience.

The tall table centerpieces we designed had phalaenopsis orchids, purple hydrangeas, and tall branches that were strung with purple ribbon and elegant votives.

The wedding cake was provided by Perfect Endings of Napa Valley.

Engagement Party: Leslie & Josh

Leslie and Josh celebrated their engagement on June 9, 2012 at a private residence overlooking the vast San Francisco Bay. We wanted to keep the theme for the party casual and comfortable, yet very elegant. We decided on a color palette of white and green florals, accompanied by eggplant and kiwi colored linens. The combination of the spectacular view, vibrant linens, and abundance of flowers created a  picturesque, and one of a kind, engagement party for both Leslie and John.

The table centerpieces were composed of fluffy hydrangeas, delphiniums, avalanche roses, white peonies, and green parrot tulips.

The bar area was surrounded by a tall arrangement of vibrant white orchids and fluffy hydrangeas. The adjacent cocktail tables were dressed with white peonies in a square glass vase cornered by small glass votives filled with water.

The elegant tall centerpieces inside the home had white peonies, green viburnum, and white larkspur which added even more height to the piece.

We were so thankful to provide floral arrangements for each of these lovely events that turned out to be spectacular. If you are interested in our designs, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us!

Memorial Day Weekend Madness

"On past Memorial Day weekends majority of our business consisted of people buying flowers to show respect to the fallen soldiers, but in addition to that now we have so many people celebrating and filling the long weekend with weddings and events"

- Michael Daigian

Memorial Day Weekend was a busy one for us here at Michael Daigian Design, we provided elaborate and beautiful florals for three back to back weddings in San Francisco and for the Stanford Senior Formal.

Here's a just a glimpse!

Real Wedding: Lindsay & Jake

Lindsey and Jake's wedding took place in the historic James Leary Flood Mansion in San Francisco. The keywords the bride wanted us to keep in mind when designing the custom florals were lush, elegant, romantic, unique, and secret garden. The desired color scheme for the stunning wedding was white and green.

Lindsay's elegant bouquet was complete with white garden roses, white ranunculus, white peonies, green succulents, and lily of the valley.

We created a custom 8ft tall chuppah that was covered in lush greenery and white garden flowers creating a romantic look. It was almost as if you were stepping into your own secret garden.

We created five tall centerpieces in glass pilsner vases filled with white blossomed dog wood, lush green ivy, and jasmine. It gave a dramatic and elegant effect to the Flood Mansion dining room.

The simple, yet elegant, white cake was finished with garden roses, ranunculus, lily of the valley, and green succulents. Cake by Living Room Events.

Real Wedding: Marisol & John

Marisol and John's wedding took place at the Saint Ignatius Church and the reception was at The Fairmont Nob Hill in San Francisco. The wedding was set to have a romantic and classic ballroom feel filled with white, red, gold, and navy blue accents.

In the Bridal Bouquet we used white peonies, white ranunculus, white sweet peas, paper whites, and white lilacs.

The Bridesmaid Bouquets were filled with red peonies, red ranunculus, and red piano roses. It was a unique and modern alternative to a classic red rose bouquet.

The escort card table arrangement was full of white delphinium, white stocks, white hydrangea, white blossom branches, and white snap dragons.

We made two large alter arrangements that had white delphiniums, white stock, hydrangea, snap dragons, white blossom branches, and white peonies.

The aisle decor bouquets were composed of elegant white hydrangeas and greens.
The wedding cake was finished with red ranunculus and red piano roses. Cake by Taste of Denmark.

Stanford Senior Formal

The Stanford Senior Formal took place on May 26, 2012 at the SF Winery on Treasure Island. They wanted to create a sense of wonder in the design complete with vibrant purples, yellows, oranges, greens, and fuchsias.
We designed a tall arrangement that we placed on each end of the bar full with wild grasses, allium, and other fun flowers into a tall cylinder vase.
We designed a free standing tall arangement where it looked as though the flowers were climbing up the metal frame.

The designed whimsical wine barrel arrangements that were placed in low cylinder vases.

The illuminated floral arrangements were a hit at the Stanford Senior Formal and gave off the feel of wonder that was originally desired.
